The annual celebration of Nikola Tesla’s birthday [né July 10th, 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia] kicked-off with nearly half an hour of the world’s largest coil show located at the main plaza of The Tesla Science Center. This venue was built back in 1901 and briefly served as Tesla’s laboratory from 1902 until 1903, when it closed due to the lack of sufficient funding. Because of logistical issues, the 2022 two-day expo was postponed for two months. Instead of Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th; the two-day exhibit took place on Friday, September 16th and on Saturday, September 17th. However, the postponement did not dampen the fans’ enthusiasm at all. The event was the very first celebration after a two-year hiatus caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic. There were approximately a total of 800 to 1,000 participants of all ages, from children to seniors. This turnout was the biggest since the Tesla Science Center began celebrating Nikola Tesla’s birthday back in July 2018. There were around 200-300 attendees on Friday night and between 700 to 900 for the main festivity on Saturday the 17th. The energy emitted by the sheer number of attendees was extremely invigorating and inspirational. It was incredibly uplifting to be surrounded by numerous like-minded folks from all walks of life who are committed to keep Tesla’s legacy alive! Read More at:
